5 Things I've Learned From Being Married Young

My husband, Bryce and I were ready to make that commitment to each other, and we haven't looked back since!

1. We Are Always Learning About Each Other

We recently went on our first ski trip. We've been married now 6 years, together for 8 years. I had never ski'd with Bryce before! I had no idea how amazing of a skier he was. It felt like we were dating, because I was just learning about this talent he had!

2. First Experiences Are So Much Fun Together

I remember when Bryce and I bought our first car together. It was an old Toyota, I named it Shadow. What's funny is the night before we went to pick-up our car, I was asleep and apparently told Bryce "I know what to name our car! Shadow". The next day, when we were picking up our car, Bryce said, "Here's Shadow!" I was like, "How did you know that?!"

3. We Both Have Changed... A Lot!

In the best way possible, we have changed so much. Bryce and I will joke often how we married a totally different person (meaning, we're not the person we used to be). When you get married young, your priorities are so different. I didn't realize how much I needed to grow up, which made sense since I was 20 years old!

4. Sacrifice.

Sacrifice comes with marrige, it's not a one-way street. You have to be willing to give in order to receive. Bryce has sacrificed more than I could ever ask. We have built a life together and when we first got married, we realized the life we thought we wanted isn't maybe the life we needed.

5. You Can't Give Up When Things Get Hard.

Anything worth having doesn't come easy, and that's marriage described perfectly. Bryce and I have definitely had our fair share of disagreements, but we've NEVER gone to bed mad at each other.

Zero Regrets.

So many people told us we were too young to get married, and to not rush it. We were together for two years before we got married, and though that may seem like a small amount of time, we were ready to make that commitment to each other, and we haven't looked back since!
