A Trip To South Lake Tahoe
A small guide for your next trip to South Lake Tahoe with or without a dog! We visited South Lake Tahoe in the winter, and spent most of our time exploring the city, and enjoying the town atmosphere.
South Lake Tahoe Lodging
We stayed at The Desolation Hotel Townhome. It was our a home away from home. It is located 3 minutes from town & Heavenly ski resort.
Dog's can be left unattended if they are well behaved. Our suite came with...
soaking tub on the balcony
fireplace in the bedroom & living room
heated floors in the bathroom
in-room washing/drying machine
private garage
heated balcony
full kitchen
South Lake Tahoe Restaurants
One of my favorite restaurants was Base Camp Pizza, they have amazing pizza! The gluten free pizza is really good too (my husband orders regular, I will order gluten free pizza).
If you're looking for a romantic or a celebratory dinner, Chart House ($$$) & Maggie's ($$) are excellent restaurants to meet those needs. Chart House is not dog friendly, but if you choose to stay at the Desolation Hotel, your dog can be left alone (as long as they're well behaved).

A Ski Town
We visited Tahoe in the winter time, it was fun and cozy. However, because we did not do too many activities other than skiing and exploring the town we didn't find too many winter activities to do with Olive. If you're looking for a fun winter ski trip, Tahoe is your town!
The skiing was incredible, you get an amazing view of Lake Tahoe! Definitely one to put on the list!
